Nobody wakes up excited for Monday. You spend Sunday night bracing for the week like a cold wave, and by Monday morning the week owns you before the coffee is even poured.
Not in the Mediterranean. Here the week does not lurch into motion. It eases in — a slow, sunlit hour kept before the work begins, something saved only for the start.
One Habit
Give Monday one thing you look forward to, and give it to nothing else.
A swim before coffee. A slow breakfast of real food and good olive oil. Ten quiet minutes on the balcony in early light. One small pleasure, reserved for Monday, so the week opens with something you chose instead of something you owe.
Why It Works
Dread is not really about the work. It is about a day with nothing in it that you chose. Put one chosen thing at the front, and Monday stops being a thing to survive. It becomes a thing to taste.
You do not need to love Mondays. You need one reason not to fear them. The week is coming either way. Start it soft.
