You do not need to schedule more quality time. You need to stop scheduling and start working beside your kids.
Most fathers treat their children like an appointment. Drop-off at practice. A weekend activity. A screen handed over in the back seat. Then they wonder why the family feels thin.
Not in the Mediterranean. Here a father does not perform fatherhood. He lives it. The boy carries the bread home from the bakery. The girl sets the table and learns the sauce. Work is not what steals you from family. It is where the family is made.
One Habit
Give your child one real job a day, and do it beside them.
Not entertainment. Real work. Let them carry the shopping up from the market. Let them crack the eggs and stir the olive oil into the dressing. Let them hold the hose in the garden while you pull weeds. Fix the loose chair with them at your elbow handing you the screws.
It will take longer. That is the point.
Why It Works
A child does not feel loved because you are around. A child feels loved because they are useful to you. In the Mediterranean, kids grow up inside the real work of the house, and that is why the bond holds for a lifetime. Skills pass from hand to hand, not through an activity app.
You do not need another enrichment program. You need your kid beside you, learning the family trade, which is just another name for the family. Less scheduling. More apprenticeship.
