You have been eating bread wrong.
Not because you eat too much of it. Because you eat it dry, alone, as an afterthought — a pale slice beside a plate that never asked for it.
Not in the Mediterranean. Here, bread is never the side act. It is the vessel. It carries the olive oil, the tomato, the sauce, the last of the fish.
One Habit
Buy one good loaf a week. Tear it by hand. Dip it, drag it, soak it. Never slice it thin and leave it bare.
At the table, bread is the first thing you reach for and the last thing you finish. It mops the plate. It stretches the meal. It turns a little food into enough.
Why It Works
Good bread soaked in good olive oil needs nothing else. It is the cheapest, oldest, most honest meal on the coast — the thing a fisherman eats standing up, the thing a grandmother puts on the table before anything else is ready.
You are not overeating bread. You are eating bread that gives you nothing, so you keep reaching for more. Make it count and a small torn piece satisfies.
Less fear of carbs. More joy at the table. Bread was never the problem — eating it with nothing alive on it was.
