Antiperspirant was never going to save your back. It plugs two small patches under your arms and nothing else. Your chest and back are a fabric problem, not a chemical one.

In the Mediterranean, men have dressed for brutal summer heat for thousands of years without a single stick of deodorant. The secret was never a stronger product. It was the cloth.

One Habit

Wear one loose, light layer and let the air move through it. Linen or a light open-weave cotton, cut loose enough that the cloth sits off your skin.

Air is the real antiperspirant. Sweat dries when it can evaporate, and it evaporates when the fabric lets the breeze through. A thin base layer spreads sweat wide and lets it dry. A heavy cotton tee turns into a sponge that saturates, then holds the wet against your skin all afternoon.

This is not about buying a better shirt. It is about dressing with the sun instead of fighting it — less chemical armor, more airflow, more natural cloth. And on the skin that stays bare, let a good sunscreen do the work the weather can’t.
